Strike One For The Nat Geo Channel

Don’t get me wrong, I like the National Geographic Channel, but isn’t there enough animal killing going on already? Their new show, American Colony: Meet The Hutterites, is appalling! Don’t they have the decency to edit out the pigs throat being slit while it hung there, squealing? I used to believe that it was one of the few educational channels that kids could even watch, but no more! Shame on you Nat Geo, not everyone likes the blood, guts, and torture! And we must not forget showing a cow being shot, along with the poor goose laying there while the guy took an axe to its neck! How vile! It isn’t bad anough that it’s going on, no, now National GeoGRAPHIC has to capture every detail on film!

It’s interesting to watch other ways of life. However, it irritates me that inhumane things are allowed anywhere in the world, but in the United States it’s just unacceptable, regardless of what ‘religion’ you call yourself. Doesn’t the ASPCA’s jurisdiction include Montana? Because to slowly plunge a knife into an animal’s throat is vile and cruel. The “Elders” condone that? Cruelty? They have so many rules, but I guess they don’t apply to their livestock. I’m surprised the cow didn’t break all four legs when the guy chased it and the poor thing stumbled from the fear of being quickly charged, perhaps the Hutterites don’t have a lot of exposure to being filmed and the guy was making a lame attempt to show off for the camera!

Furthermore, how dare they terrorize that poor Bertha woman with the threat of excommunication from their community. At the end of the episode, after receiving a text announcing that the Elders are coming, she appeared to be soiling herself at the very thought of it! And the parents are responsible for the childrens’ behavior until they’re in their twenties? At 18 most of our kids are adults, can you imagine being held accountable for their actions? So, bottom line, Bertha has been shunned! How disgusting let me tell you, no matter what your religion, you should also have an education otherwise, how can you know that your belief system is right for you? Maybe that’s the gist of it, maybe the “elders” don’t want anyone to further their education because then they will see how flawed such beliefs are! Where in the bible does it say to remain ignorant, in the dark and not know any better about anything? IF there is such a terrible problem, it should only be with Berthas daughter, IF anyone has to be shunned at all, it should only be her if for nothing else, her blatant defiance! Can she not see that acting like she did only brought trouble to her mother? Regardless of how she feels about the community, she should have had the damned respect to give a hoot what happened to her mom because of her!

Nice job National Geographic, nice job, talk about promoting animal cruelty, violence and abuse! It was educational alright, I learned a whole lot. Now I can work in a slaughter house!

You can tell that’s sarcasm right?

Great Mermaid Cover-Up

Okay, so now you’ll really think that I’ve gone totally over the edge of sanity! How many of you out there watched Mermaids on Animal Planet? Of course I knew that mermaids were only a fairy tale, existing only in some poor, tired fools mind… wrong! I was so shocked by the time it was over that, well, I had to blog about it! Face it, the government hides loads of stuff from the people, it’s true, fact. What gets me, though, is who the heck are they to hide anything from the people who put many of them into office! And as far as the military goes, unless it has to do with war, you have no business hiding it period!

Think back to the Area 51 thing. No, no, there’s no such thing as aliens, okay it must be true because the government said as much and made people feel like idiots to so much as entertain the possibility. How many whales died from the sonar testing done? The same sonar tests which also killed dolphins, as well as these creatures not identified prior to that time with incredibly similar DNA to ours – for lack of a better word, mermaids. Though, not at all as they have been depicted over the years. There are many things that mankind cannot explain and it seems so ignorant to me that some people are so arrogant that they claim that we are the supreme beings and that no others can exist. Hmm, they share much of our DNA, obviously they feel pain, oh we’d better dissect them all the while denying their existence! Was the theory true that those in power hid these findings because they feared a public uproar over the fact that not only were they killing these beautiful, harmless whales and dolphins, but were also killing a never before discovered species which shared some of our DNA? I don’t know about anyone else, but yeah, I do have a problem with these secret tests conducted which result in killing ANY oceanic creatures, especially a never before seen one!

Before I really sound like the nutjob mentioned in one of my previous posts, a lot of their facts seemed to add up. Why is it that whales seem to tolerate humans swimming, and dolphins seem to actually enjoy the company of humans? It’s not as if wild dolphins experience human contact often, so why is it that schools of wild dolphins in certain places in the world drive the fish towards shore where multiple fishermen wait with their nets? They even stay perfectly calm as the net is thrown over them and the fish, knowing that the fishermen will set them loose before tightening onto the fish, and then even wait there patiently for their share of the catch! These are wild dolphins! How do they know not only to help the humans, but that they won’t harm them in their nets? Couldn’t this suggest that they’ve swam with similar creatures?

I’ve never understood why some people fear that which is unknown to them. The attitude seems to be that if it scares them or they do not understand it, kill it and ask questions later, or in the government’s eyes, deny, deny, deny. What’s equally wrong is that they destroy anyone who stands up and tries to inform the public. The goal is to then make them look like a complete lunatic, cost them their job, reputation – hell, get the media involved and make them look like utter fools. Besides that, monitor every last shred of their life – basically spy on them – and at all costs, stop them from trying to conduct further testing. Don’t allow them any answers, and above and beyond, discredit them in the public’s eyed as well as their peers’!

I recommend to any and everyone to watch Mermaids: The Body Found on Animal Planet. Reserve your opinions until you see it for yourselves – at the very least, it’s interesting to learn about.

The Truth About Some No Kill Shelters

You probably don’t know this, especially if you haven’t read a Reader’s Digest in awhile. Now, you would think that a no kill shelter means “no-kill” right?  Wrong! No kill shelters don’t actually do the killing themselves, they contract the killing out to another party! Talk about misleading! Some parent reassures their child that it’s okay to take Fluffy to this shelter because he’ll find a new, loving home. Worst case scenario the parent thinks that at least the cat will have a roof over it’s head, be fed and cared for, for the remainder of its life, and guess what? The cat will be put to “sleep” like so many other poor little fluffy souls. I know it’s disgusting, misleading, wrong, but unfortunalely it’s true. So the next time that you take an animal to a “No-Kill Shelter”, you may want to pull someone aside first and clarify exactly what’ll happen to the animal after awhile. And the “while” usually isn’t very long either!

Horse Meat Coming to a Table Near You

Now I know that there must be others out there who love horses like I do. What I’d like to know though is, where are they? I cannot believe that Obama will allow horse meat to be sold for human consumption – for any consumption, for that matter. It seems that nothing is off limits now days. Will cannibalism be allowed next? What in the world have we become? Such beautiful, majestic creatures; they run in races until they are considered too old to do so any longer, and then many of those same winners are sent to slaughter! Some get a horse because they think that it’d be cool to have one and then they realize that these animals, like any other, require care, shelter, food, medical care, etc. so they starve them for awhile before getting rid of them. To think that some idiots take chainsaws and cut off the horses legs while still alive is nauseating! There are people who holler about these countries that eat dogs, cats, monkeys, dolphins, chimpanzees, and others, and yet, look, here we are adding horse meat to the already long list of animals killed for our consumption. IF any animal has to be killed, at least do so in a humane manner (not to condone any killing), don’t intentionally cause an animal to suffer unspeakable agony. I’m a firm believer that karma really is a bitch and when it comes back around to bite, it does so tenfold! I realize that the world is more stressed out then it’s ever been, we’re all worried about money, our bills, saving our homes, food on the table, finding a job – well you get the picture – but can’t anyone just take a minute to look at an animal, really look and appreciate it’s beauty?

Whale Massacres: Is It Simple Ignorance?

I thought I’d seen most everything at my age that there is to see in this world, the good, the bad and the ugly.  Naive… I saw something recently that made me so sick to my stomach that I truly thought that I would hurl in between tears. I try very hard to understand people, and try to understand why they think the way that they do, but in this case I cannot help but wonder if it’s a simple, tragic case of ignorance.  Then I say to myself, no, there is no way that this can be just ignorance, stupidity, or lack of an education.

How sad and devastating it is that someday the future generations will only know certain animals by seeing a picture of them in a book (if even that fortunate). Take a minute or two to go and research how many animals are on the endangered list – and at the rate this world is going, a heck of a lot more will be added soon.  It’s by land, air, and yes the sea; the killing is everywhere all around us and not much is off limits.  We can’t rely on the government to do it all (we’re lucky if they protect any wildlife), ‘We the People’ have got to take a stand and do our part to create/improve animal rights (all animals).

I watch Whale Wars and, let me tell you, that’s what I referred to earlier that made me physically sick to my stomach. To literally slaughter all of those magnificent Pilot whales is a travesty!  How dare any group of people take part in an outright massacre and then attempt to justify such behavior by saying that they have to eat!  The guy that said, “Who’s going to feed this nation, are you!”  How dare him! Go to the store (you do have stores there, don’t you?) and pay for the meat like the rest of us do. Catch some fish and sell it in the stores or go and buy it from a store!  To murder entire families of such beautiful, intelligent, peaceful creatures is disgusting, a shame, and a sin.  They are corralled, forced ashore standing no chance whatsoever, being confused – and scared, no doubt – they then have big hooks shoved into them and are stabbed repeatedly until the sea really does run red with their blood!  Don’t dare say that they don’t feel pain either. If someone did this to those butchers, would they feel it? You’re damned right they would!

Why doesn’t someone step up to the plate and educate those so-called people over there?  Start with living, breathing beings, how they do feel and they do have emotions. If a foreigner comes into their midst, he/she may not look like they do, talk like they do, walk like they do, wear the same clothing, and whoa, look out if someone comes along that, in their ignorant eyes, is inferior. Animals feel, both physically and emotionally.  Elephants mourn their dead as much as humans, and they are an animal. I heard another of the “butchers” say, “They [the whales] had a good life, they get to live 30 or so years being free, swimming the sea”.  What that translates to is that they get to live some number of years in their natural habitat with their close knit families, not being tormented and tortured by us, until we decide that their time is up and trap them with our boats to run them ashore, so that we can torture, abuse, and slowly murder them right there. All this in the name of ‘feeding a nation’!  It’s sad that, with so, so many animals being endangered already, the Pilot whales might very well join the list with such savage behavior being allowed by any country, and there will be nothing left at this rate for the future generations. I guess though that a lot of the older people figure that since they won’t be around to see it, why should they care? Most unfortunate that they raise the up-and-coming generations not to know any better either. It’s a case of gross ignorance.
