Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation

Always on the hunt for new, affordable makeup and skincare products I saw the Wet n Wild photofocus foundation and had to give it a try. The line seems to have a decent selection of shades to accommodate various skin colors, though I did notice that many were very orange and very pink, for me the Nude Ivory matched best. Now I’ll tell you that if your skin is very dry you may want to use a heavy duty moisturizer before even trying this foundation, or skip this one all together.

I applied my moisturizer first and then I used my facial primer, following it with the foundation which I found easiest to apply with a foundation brush. This foundation didn’t want to sit right on my skin, it was as if you were trying to rub makeup onto a piece of stucco. You would think that I had severely dry skin or something (which I do not), I don’t use facial powder which is a blessing because you wouldn’t want to apply powder over something that won’t blend well to begin with. When I was finished and I looked at my face I was extremely disappointed, it was a cakey, heavy looking mess, not to mention that my face felt clogged like I just applied a bucket of spackle to it.

I decided to give it one more try on my bare face without any moisturizer or primer, so I washed my face and started over, again when I finished and stepped back to look in the mirror my face was an overdone mess! I did not apply excess foundation either, I applied it very lightly like I always do as you can build coverage later as you go, if needed. On the plus side, the Wet n Wild photofocus foundation is affordable when compared to other foundations. By the same token what does it matter if a foundation is cheap if it doesn’t work for you. This one absolutely gets a thumbs down, it’s not even worth the low price. Keep your money and spend it on a foundation that blends into your skin instead of making you look like you’re wearing clown makeup.

elf Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Stick

I prefer eyeliner that is liquid and that is waterproof because my eyes are so easily irritated and tear easily, then if I don’t have a good eyeliner on I begin to look like a raccoon. I got tired of spending a fortune on various waterproof stick and liquid eyeliners so one day I spotted the elf waterproof sticks for $2.00. I didn’t expect too much being it was only $2.00 and i’d had such lousy luck with all of the others I’d tried, I bought it and I kept an open mind like I always do.

I love how thin the liner went on, you can draw a thin line or a thick line and I got caught in the rain one day with no umbrella so the liner was put to the test to see if it would resist the water, it did. For the price the elf waterproof liquid eyeliner is a no brainer,  it’s cheap and goes on nicely and really withstands water. What I dislike most about the product is that I buy a new stick about once a month and I have purchased at least four now that have been dried out, one of them had a strange flaw in the tip and it interfered with it going on straight. Aside from it being hit and miss as to whether it will be dried out or not, the product is worth the money and I have to say it would be a keeper. Definitely a thumbs up if you get one that is not dried out.

Gold Bond Ultimate firming neck & chest cream Review

Okay ladies now here’s a product worth trying. I have been using this cream regularly taking breaks only when trying other new products with the same claims, I have been using it for about 7 months. The cream goes on without leaving my skin feeling clogged and “coated” and you can feel the tightening immediately, after first using it for about 3 weeks I noticed a significant reduction in the lines on my neck and the crepid look of my skin. It does not have a strong smell of any kind and therefore does not interfere with the smell of any perfume that I wear.

The Gold Bond Ultimate firming neck & chest cream is far less expensive than it’s competitors, which is why I didn’t have high expectations when I first began using the product, I mean come on we all have this idea that if we aren’t using the more expensive creams and serums that the celebrities are able to afford than they can’t work as well, right? Wrong, this cream is worth every penny (I paid around $12.99) and it backs up it’s claims of improving skins texture, firmer, more taught skin, and of improving skin elasticity. This one get’s a thumbs up for sure.

Signature Club A Rapid Transport C infused Cool Tight w/intens. Tens’Up for Neck, Throat & Decollete

I have tried a good number of Signature Club A products, for a good number of years. This product I first saw on HSN probably about a month ago, always in the market for anti aging products I gave it a try. First let me say that makeup is for hiding a womans age, however facial creams, serums and the like are for preventing aging skin and for undoing any aging that already exists (if any such thing exists). I dislike a product that is supposed to help with the wrinkles and lines that has light reflecting particles so as to confuse the consumer as to how well the cream is really working.

The Cool Tight cream was said to make skin feel cool when applied, I noticed no cooling at all but the product did make my skin feel somewhat tight. I have used the product for nearly two months and while my neck and decollete does FEEL ever so slightly tighter, the lines have not improved in the least. The cream feels heavy to me and definitely leaves a thick feel on my skin, almost a clogged feeling or one of being unwashed. I will say though that the smell is the best part of the product, it has the delicious scent of an orange cream Popsicle like the company’s makeup remover smells.

For the money ($37.10 total) which was supposed to be a special price, the product is just not worth it, save your money. Perhaps I’m dreaming but I want a product to make a difference when I buy it, I want it to do what it says, at least and I have to say that this one missed the mark by miles.

Makeup & Beauty Mania

It sneaks up on you like some alien body snatcher scene, face it, women of a certain age begin to show it and there’s not a whole lot the average woman can do about it unless she’s Kim Kardashian, in which case the trade off is in having soo much work done you not only don’t even slightly resemble your biological self, you begin to look as if you’re not even human! So what can women do to slow down the bite of father time? Well, just join the majority of real women out there and begin trying some of the zillion face products geared toward slowing down the look of the aging process and hiding the dead giveaways of ones age. Although no one can try every, single product out there on the market today, many of us have indeed tried hundreds of them. These are honest reviews, I am not compensated in any way, shape or form for raving about any that may be that good or slamming any that are beyond that bad, either way you can judge for yourself but I trust the information will help you so that you don’t waste your hard earned money on products that simply don’t do what they promise.

ANGRY Mama Microwave Cleaner

Wouldn’t we all love a cleaner that we could fill and throw into our microwave and have it magically clean it, so that all we had to do was to wipe it out afterward? If you answered yes than I wouldn’t recommend the ANGRY Mama microwave cleaner. I tried this product and followed the directions to the letter but was very disappointed with the results, or lack of, the food in the microwave was just as bad as before I tried it. I would have to give the ANGRY Mama a thumbs down, while it’s a great concept, for me it did not do what it claimed to.

The best way that I personally have found to clean the microwave was with white vinegar and some good old fashioned elbow grease, however I didn’t care for the smell after using it. I tried using lemon juice and warm water and it did equally well and did not leave an unpleasant odor after it was cleaned.
