WordPress Review

You know, I always liked wordpress and the fact that it allows users to have their say without users having to empty every dollar from their wallets to do so. That being said, I am a huge fan of the classic editor, which it seems that wordpress has made obsolete! I have never been able to understand why when something is already great, someone comes along believing that it could be “better” and changes it. In most cases the changes are lousy, as with wordpress getting rid of the classic editor!

I have been considering signing up for a different service, yes it will cost money but perhaps there’s more truth in you get what you pay for than I care to admit. Maybe wordpress executives figured that getting rid of the classic editor will force users to pay the price to upgrade or maybe they have so many users now they are trying to “thin out” the ranks! Regardless, the new editor stinks and instead of allowing users to choose which one they would prefer, they have taken it away all together to “freebie” users!

When the radical democrats wormed their way into power and things got ridiculously bad with the suppression of our supposed freedom of speech, all of the big tech companies that were smack in the pockets of the radical democrats began locking people out from online sites where people voiced their opinions, whenever they differed from those of the democrats. Hats off to wordpress, to my knowledge they did not block posts from those people who had their own opinions and thoughts when they were different than the radical, insane lunatic politicians calling themselves democrats! I don’t care what anyone says, words can hurt worse than a physical blow but the fact is that it is far more important to preserve what little is left of our freedom of speech than any hurt feelings from words! So again, I applaud wordpress for not being pressured, bullied into doing what the big tech bullies have been and are doing.

Let’s hope that the powers that be at wordpress bring back the classic editor and soon, I am by far not the only one that is complaining and disappointed by it being taken. Everywhere I went online to see if I could restore it, there were people in huge numbers complaining, saying that they love the classic editor and loathe the new ( block? ) editor! The option on the new post page that claims to be classic editor is nowhere near the same as the original! It stinks!

DermaRPX Fast Acting Wrinkle Reducing Cream Review

We’ve all heard of the Plexaderm Rapid Reduction Serum that’s been advertised all over the place for a few years now and I’m sure you’ve seen the insane price for it as well. This DermaRPX is basically a knockoff of that but certainly cheaper at $19.99 + tax for a 0.5 ounce bottle and works pretty much the same.

Apply to a clean and dry face being sure to relax facial muscles, pat onto lines or wrinkles only using a thin layer of the product, also make certain not to make any facial expressions until the cream is thoroughly dry. Allow the cream to “set” for a minimum of five minutes.

PROS: Of the temporary wrinkle reducers, the DermaRPX is a fraction of the price. It works on par with the PLexaderm, no better and no worse. It does make some visible difference when masking the lines / wrinkles on your face. Certainly not a long term remedy but if you’re in a hurry and just want to “freshen” the appearance of your face it’ll help you to look as if you got a little more sleep than you actually got last night!

CONS: As with any temporary wrinkle reducer, it is just temporary. Some women may feel that they need help so badly they use more of the cream than recommended, don’t do it! Wherever you use too much of the cream you’ll have white streaks, then if you add water to those areas to try and get the white off, the cream wipes off and you’re back to square one. While it does make some difference in the appearance of lines/wrinkles, I have to say that I’m not overly impressed with it either. It could be that women in their thirties that only have slight lines would benefit from this cream but I’m not even sure about that.

BOTTOM LINE: The DermaRPX may help you to look a bit more “refreshed” but I’d have to say that’s all you can realistically expect from it, if you’re looking for an Oh wow what have you been doing, you look great, have you had work done, you’ll be sorely disappointed. It’s an okay product for a temporary wrinkle reducer but that’s about all it is, you might consider saving the twenty bucks and putting it toward something else, up to you. Good luck.

ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Advanced Eye Treatment Review

I’m not sure how many of you ladies are familiar with Elemis products but if you aren’t already, you certainly should be. This Pro-Collagen Eye Treatment serum comes in a 0.5 ounce pump and costs around $68.00, the current one I’m using was a gift so I may be a few dollars off. The serum targets fine lines and wrinkles around the eye area and claims to smooth and hydrate, locking moisture in. Directions say to use 1 to 2 drops around eye area after cleansing face, once in the morning and once in the evening. But let’s get down to the real nitty gritty here and review this serum, once again I want to add that my reviews are honest, I gain nothing from a positive review and gain nothing from a negative review, well except perhaps from someone that may disagree with me because they are closet advertisers for certain products. Just the facts ladies, that’s all you’ll get from me here.

PROS: The Elemis Pro-Collagen Advanced Eye Treatment Serum works like a charm, I fondly refer to it as my “liquid gold”. You younger gals may not have to worry as much about fine lines and wrinkles around your eyes, around your face for that matter but trust me, take care of your skin now because before you know it father time is laying the smack down on you. Take care of your skin beforehand otherwise it’ll be more difficult down the road. I love that the serum can be used directly on the eyelids too, as most all of the anti-aging eye products on the market are only safe to use around the eye area, newsflash for those companies, fine lines and wrinkles strike the eyelids too! This serum is non irritating, not at all greasy and a drop goes a long way. It doesn’t have a funky offensive smell either, not full of perfumes that make you want to gag to the point that you offend yourself all day long. I ran out of my last bottle and hadn’t used the serum for about a month, when I was given this bottle I began using it again right away and after 5 days I was shocked by the difference in the fine lines around my eyes. It absolutely does what it claims to do, I love it, love it, love it.

CONS: The only con I can come up with is that yes, the price is high when compared to others on the market, but the truth is… it really can’t be compared to others on the market because it’s in a class all by itself. Sure maybe you can buy TWO other anti-aging eye products on the market for the price of this one but the fact that most don’t do what they claim and that you cannot use most of them on the eyelids makes them in my book, a total waste of your hard earned cash.

BOTTOM LINE: The Elemis Pro-Collagen Advanced Eye Treatment Serum is worth every penny you’ll pay and then some. It diminishes fine lines and the appearance of wrinkles on eyelids and around the eyes, you will see real results after about five days of using the serum ( 5 in my case anyway but it could be sooner for you or a bit longer, depending on the severity of your lines and/or wrinkles). It would be a blatant lie for anyone to tell you an exact length of time before you’ll see results when using any product but I can tell you that you will indeed see results. Thumbs up….. waaayyy up!

Shark Apex Vacuum Review

As all too often happens, my Dirt Devil Jaguar vacuum finally bit the dust and I decided that this time I would research the heck out of every vacuum on the market to find the best, though I knew it would cost an arm & a leg and a head to boot! My three main concerns were one that really took care of pet hair, could clean carpeting and bare floors equally well and most critical was one that truly kept any and all allergens from escaping into the air.

This beast, the Shark Apex upright vacuum had to be purchased at Kohl’s, unless I wanted to order online and cost $350.00 BEFORE TAX! Yes I know, the price is absolutely insane because quite honestly they should include a butler to vacuum for you for that kind of money! I figured though if it lasted for a good ten years or so it would be worth it if it worked as well as claimed all over according to reviews.

PROS: Well the vacuum does indeed suck so that’s always a good thing. This vac. can handle corners and the head is thin enough to get under the edges of your cupboards and halfway under chairs. Have you ever been vacuuming and every wall that you vacuum against looks as if the vacuum was never even there, a trail of dust, crumbs, pet hair or whatever just stays there? I was impressed by how well this cleans around all edges, better than any I have ever seen. This vac. allows you to lift off the canister part to do stairs or your car, etc. to me it was a hindrance though. They include TWO, yes I said only 2 accessories with it.

CONS: Ladies….. or perhaps gents, unless you want a workout after working all day or working out at the gym, pass on this puppy! In all fairness I do have a shoulder injury but even taking that into account, this vacuum simply weighs too much! I tried lugging it upstairs to vacuum and nearly fell down the steps. It is so damned heavy that when I try to steer it to take curves while doing the floor I can’t steer it at all because of the weight. The accessory that women went nuts over, an under appliance wand so that you can really clean under your fridge or stove with ease, yeah well that’s not included but you can purchase it for FOURTY DOLLARS! It has only the two accessories that come with the vacuum .BOTTOM LINE HERE: This vacuum is in no way worth the price period. Shark may be a good name and well known for their high prices but this one really takes the cake with being overpriced. It’s far too heavy, way too overpriced, doesn’t include nearly enough accessories ( tools ) with it and as far as how well it actually works, sucks, well on a scale of 1 to 5 I would say it’s a solid 4, that being said though it’s still not worth the price. Hope this helped.

HARD CANDY Glamoflauge Concealer Review

This Glamoflauge heavy duty concealer cost me $6.99, plus tax of course for a 0.71 ounce tube. The tube may seem small but let me tell you it goes a long way. That being said let’s get right to the review and as always, you may not like to hear what I have to say in my reviews but I can assure you of this, you will always get the truth here.

PROS:  For as little of this concealer as you need at a time it is by far worth every penny you’ll spend on it. It goes on very easy and can be layered for real bad blemishes, I have found that it is exceptionally good at hiding facial scars too. The color though it looked slightly orange tinted in the store and I can’t stand orange or pink tinted cosmetics, is most natural. I was thrilled that it didn’t break my skin out or cause any irritation.

CONS:  The only negative for me personally and in all fairness isn’t a true con just more of an “I’d prefer”, is that I’m not fond of tubes, jars, pots, anything that you have to use your fingers to apply. I would prefer a wand or stick type that I don’t have to get all over my fingers.

Bottom Line…….  Worth every penny and works like a charm. I keep my hands super clean but would still prefer not having to put my fingers in makeup to apply it but that’s just my personal peeve and has nothing to do with the concealer itself. If you’re looking for a concealer that can be applied lightly for a barely there blemish, or heavy duty for an unwanted zit or to hide a scar, look no further. Thumbs up!

Maybelline Super Stay Foundation Stick Review

This “multi-use” foundation stick cost me around seven bucks, being Maybelline it’s safe to assume that you’ll be able to afford most of their cosmetics but keep in mind that old saying that you get what you pay for because there’s a lot of truth to it. The stick is a whopping ( 0.25 oz ) and yes, I mean that in the most sarcastic way. There is a sponge on one end to blend it with if you want to. I say that because most makeup lovers have their own set of brushes and applicators that they like to use for various cosmetics, some of us have those favorites that have become so overused that they are falling apart, yet I keep going back to my favorite, old faithful ones! Anyway, back to the review of this foundation stick.

PROS: Hate to state the obvious here but I certainly don’t want to leave the “PROS” section completely empty, the price is both a pro and a con. It’s a definite plus if you can use the foundation and like it because the price is affordable, when compared to others in the same category.

CONS: Okay ladies, I got the Classic Ivory shade and let me tell you, the very first thing I noticed was the color, did you ever see someone that used fake tanner and really overdid it to the point that they look like a walking orange? You know the type, those poor folks that when they’re talking to you, you have to keep your eyes focused on the whites of their eyes for fear you’ll burst into laughter if your eyes stray onto their face. God forbid they do and you double over laughing hysterically, then they ask what’s so funny. What are you going to say that they look as if they fell into a vat of orange dye like in a Willy Wonka movie! Disgustingly orange tinted foundation and it’s supposed to be IVORY. If your skin is dry and you don’t get it smoothed onto your face quick enough it will be incredibly difficult to rub around anywhere. By the same token, if you are someone that is prone to break outs then you may want to skip this one, if for no other reason, it may very well cause the mother of all break outs.

BOTTOM LINE……. Save your hard earned seven dollars or perhaps spend it on some generic orange fake tanner that might not even break your skin out as badly! To be as fair as possible I used it on my face but only went to visit a relative with it on. I didn’t say anything and tried to act as normal as possible , if you could have seen the faces of my aunts and my mother, first they just stared at me with their mouths open and then they began to laugh so hard they were literally in tears. I tried acting as if I had no clue why they reacted that way and asked what they were laughing at, I said “what do I have something on my face”, they just laughed all the harder. This gives you ladies an idea of just HOW orange this is, but the joke was on me because I only had it on for a couple of hours and my face looked like some unfortunate acne infested teenager! Even worse is that at my age you wouldn’t expect that I could have such a severe zit break out, seriously but after having this on for a short time I certainly did! BEWARE!
